New Jersey Offshore Fishing Report 11-11-16

This is the year's final offshore report!

Most of the fleet is finished fishing offshore for the year.

That doesn’t mean no fish including tuna are swimming the waters. Apparently they are.

But most captains wrap up the fishing this time of year, because of weather.

Manasquan Inlet

Offshore fishing was finished for the year, pretty much, said Dave from The Reel Seat in Brielle. A couple of yellowfin tuna, longfin tuna and some swordfish were picked up on trips, but news was scarce.

Tuna fishing was good on a trip to the offshore canyons Tuesday to Wednesday on the Gambler from Point Pleasant Beach, an email from the party boat said. Big longfin tuna and a few yellowfin tuna began to be hooked at daybreak, mostly on sardines, a few on jigs. A large swordfish was subdued at night, and room is available on a tuna trip this coming Tuesday to Wednesday, and telephone to reserve, or book online. Offshore sea bass trips are slated for Dec. 17-30.
