From the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife:

The 2008 Freshwater Fishing Digest, which is normally available in December, will not be available until late February 2008. The late publication of this edition is due to a delay in publishing the proposed Fish Code amendments in the New Jersey Register.

Anglers can view the proposed changes, which were published in the December 3 New Jersey Register, on the DEP Web site - visit (here) to view the Notice of Rule Proposal which contains a link to the actual copy of the proposal in PDF format.

The required 60-day public comment period opened on December 3 and extends to February 1, 2008. A public hearing on the proposed fish code amendments will be held January 8 at 7 p.m. at the Division of Fish and Wildlife Central Region Office in Robbinsville. The most anticipated regulation change is normally the date of the opening of the trout season, which is proposed to be April 5, 2008.
