The angling was slow,
and only nine were bagged,
though more than 100
throwbacks were hooked,
in seas and wind that
were still rough.
Wind screamed, albeit from west.
West knocks down
seas rolling in from east
close to shore and
would calm the ocean
by the next day.
Forecasts looked better
for the days after
the trip. Charters and
individual-reservation trips
fished for blackfish
and striped bass. One of
the trips would also wreck-fish
offshore on Dec. 15 for
big sea bass, large porgies,
cod and pollock.
