Joe Horan and Veronica D'Souza check in summer flounder to 4 pounds from the back bay at Riptide Bait & Tackle, Brigantine. The flatties kept being brought into the shop from the bay, and customers also beached lots of kingfish, good-sized ones, sometimes 20 or 25 per trip, in the island's surf.
