Torqeedo Ultralight 402
Kayak Motor

Isn’t kayaking the best?

Paddle around,
hit the waters boaters
can’t reach to fish.

Paddle around more,
soak up the virgin scenery.

Paddle around again ….

Wait.

All this paddling is tiring.

Can’t somebody invent
an outboard for this baby?

Somebody has.

The Torqeedo
Ultralight 402, an electric motor, is the first genuine outboard for kayaks, the company says.

The motor easily mounts on most kayaks.

With a thrust comparable to a 1-horsepower gas engine, the Torqeedo runs on a lithium, rechargeable battery.

The motor, weighing 15 pounds including the battery, has a range of
15 miles at 2.6 m.p.h. or slow speed.

It has a range of 3 ½ miles at full throttle or 5.8 m.p.h.

An extremely efficient drive train enables long range, the company says.

A hand throttle controls the speed, and
the motor can be connected to the boat’s existing steering or can be locked in place.

When it’s locked in place, the kayak
is steered with a rudder or a paddle.

A display panel on the throttle shows the battery charge, the remaining range at the current speed, the speed over ground and
the current power consumption.

A metal ball, similar in size to a ball on a hitch, is mounted on the back of the kayak, and the motor is mounted on the ball.

The ball is the only part permanently mounted on the vessel, so that the motor can be simply removed when not in use.

The Torqeedo comes with the battery and a battery charger.

So sit back and relax, letting the Torqeedo do the work.

Now kayaking is the best.
