Went fishing/crabbing down in Barnegat Bay, by Waretown/Barnegat. Even with years of experience and loads of chum, only bagged one very big blowfish in the bay, no bites whatsoever from anything. The weather was perfect, but the lower bay is still too cold. We caught 2 dozen keeper crabs but the crabs were found only in real shallow and warmer water, especially in the back bays.Caught a "monster" almost 7" point to point, very big and meaty!!! too early for the rest of the bay to be alive with fish and crabs. Those of you looking to crab, look for warmer water, especially near the Oyster Creek Outlet channel, close to land, and in the back bays. Try crabbing in 4' or less of water. Good luck!
