Fished the Pequest River in the Pequest WMA on Saturday May 31st early in the am before the rain. Fishing was slow to start off with - seems the trout were liking gold that morning - missed 2 hits on a Phoebe. We finally hit a honey hole where all the brookies were holding - stopped counting the fish caught after 10 each - they were hitting like snapper blues.. All fish were brookies - all caught on small gold spinners - all fish released. The fish in this stretch of the river were all good size - 12" and bigger. Great day before the showers came. Hot dog Johnny's for lunch capped off the day. |
