What a horrible joke. I woke up this morning to the news that sea bass were being taken off the table (literally) for the recreational fishing community. This comes after a summer in which I caught all of 7 keeper fluke. (And about 250 that had to be thrown back). I'm really disgusted right now. I strongly urge everyone to join in this fight. I feel really sorry for the charter and party boat captains. But I feel worse for the guys that I see on the party boats that are really fishing for their family's dinner. In the supermarket, I have seen sea bass going for up to $16 a lb. For those guys, this is not an option. It makes more sense to pay $60 and string together a catch of 15 keeper sea bass. I read in the paper that NY just instituted a salt water license. NJ will not be far behind. When does it stop?
