Had 2 lines in the water with clams today and while I was casting and ava 27 looked over my shoulder and saw one rod bent over. Ran to go pick it up as the sand spike broke in half and my rod was about to take a swim. As I dove for the rod and picked it up nothing was there. slack line=spit hook. Whatever it was was pretty damn big to snap a sand spike like that. Lesson of the story? keep a loose drag and maybe next time I wont miss a possible fish of a lifetime.
