SALMON RIVER TRIP - Made the long drive up to Pulsaki, NY to try for some spring chrome. The river ran super high - 2300 cfs when I started fishing Wed 4/10. Didn't get a bite all day - float fished & bottom bounced with egg / glow bug flies, black stonefly nymphs, pink trout worms, trout beads - everything - not a bite. Cold front came thru ( heavy rain ) Wed afternoon - shut the fish off. Thurs 4/11 it snowed - hard - same deal. Alot of the driftboat guides got skunked as well so I didn't feel that bad - left for home ( NJ ) Friday am - pouring rain & winds - hard driving down.If anyone goes / planning to go up there - I would call Fat Nancy's Tackle shop up there - get the real lowdown - these websites don't always give the correct info.Should've stayed home and did my trout fishing here....
