Fished Monksville Reservoir yesterday 4-26-13 - was anything but skunksville....
Missed a huge muskie by the bridge - lightning does strike twice in the same place as I didn't have a wire leader on - it bit thru the flourocarbon I had on - missed one just the same way 2 years ago - same rod & lure - the muskie hit a small black & silver Shad rap...
Then went to a cove with a Bass Assasin - hit 3 largemouths - good fights all of them - then something totally bit the rig off - right thru 15 lb. flouro - turtle - pickerel - another muskie ? - Who knows....
Action was good yesterday - so if anyone catches a muskie with a silver & black Rapala shad rap in its maw - that was mine...
Always use a wire leader up there - think I'll take my own advice for next time.... |
