Morning plans turned into an afternoon and evening trip when the trailer carrying the 21' Big Rippleskipper seized a brake cylinder on the way to the ramp. Blues patrolled and stole most of our fresh bunker off the bottom biting the tails with the second hook. Switching to steel leader and smaller chunks in a desperate move to land fish without running out of bait the waters off Keansburg gave up 2 34" stripers about 16.5# each and a mess of the pesky blues. No need for fluorocarbon leaders and fancy rigs. Hooting' and hollering' was heard all over the still waters of the bay as sunset rolled in it seemed nobody went without a catch. |
