Lots of seminars will be held, on topics from an introduction to standup paddleboards to paddle travel destinations and many more. Kayak-fishing seminars will run the gamut from spring bass fishing to winter holdover stripers to multi-day expeditionary fishing and camping. In-show pool demonstrations, pool demonstrations at the DoubleTree Hotel and kids demonstrations will be given, and a Reel Paddling Film Festival will be held Friday night.
The shop was started when Walt Durrua took over his dad’s gas station in Brick in 1958, and thought it would be great to also rent canoes to vacationers. The business boomed, and eventually The Jersey Paddler was opened at a new, large shop, where it’s currently located at Routes 70 and 88 in Brick, next door to the old gas station. The store’s been holding Paddlesport annually in March for the Northwest River Supplies and Wilderness Systems is this year’s
