From an email from the Jersey Coast Anglers Association on Dec. 14:

The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council (MAFMC) is meeting this afternoon to adopt recommendations for 2017 management measures of summer flounder.

As previously reported, a two fish limit at 19 inches with a significantly reduced season is being considered.

JCAA, and the fishing community in general, has requested "status quo" wiith no reductions from last year and no decisions be made until a current stock assessment has been completed.

Congressman Frank Pallone and Senator Cory Booker have joined in support of this request.

(Click here for their letter ) sent to NOAA Fisheries in that regard.

We will keep you posted as this unfolds.Stay tuned!
