An email from New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife on May 29:

Spring trout stocking concluded on Friday, but great trout fishing continues in many waters.

The production baseline of 570,150 trout was exceeded by almost 37,000 fish with a total of 606,961 trout being stocked.

This included almost 7,500 breeders at least 15" and up to 21" in length.

More than 30,000 trout averaging 11.3" were added to the scheduled allocations during the final three weeks of the season.

Many of these fish remain available, especially in Holdover Trout Lakes and other waters in the northern section of the state where temperatures have been cooler than average - check the Freshwater  Digest for more information.
