Hobie Mirage Pro Angler Kayak

When anglers first
started using kayaks,
they adapted ones that were originally made for other purposes.

Then companies started producing kayaks specifically for fishing, customizing them more and more.

Hobie has introduced the Mirage Pro Angler, one of the most feature-filled, lightest, stable and efficient kayaks for fishing, the company says.

One of the handiest features is that the kayak has the capacity
to carry more than 600 pounds.

You can bring it all.

Yet the hull only weighs 88 pounds. The kayak weighs 138 pounds when fully rigged.

The ‘yak is 13 feet 8 inches long with a wide, 38-inch width. Stability.

Holders along each
side can store up to
six fishing rods.

Built-in vertical holders can carry two more rods.

A large, covered front hatch is in the bow.

A smaller storage hatch sits in front of the seat, between the angler's legs, for quick access, like for tackle. Its cover can be used as a cutting board or a working area.

An 8-inch, round storage hatch with a twist-on, sealed lid is in the rear.

Storage is also available in a large cargo area with bungee cords in the rear,
a mesh-covered stowage compartment on each side and a storage tray
on each side.

Hobie’s Mirage Drive System powers the kayak with pedals.

The pedals propel the boat with fins.

Photos or a video of the fins can explain best.

The fins are more
efficient and faster
than a human-
powered propeller,
the company says.

The pedals keep
the hands free to do
more casting.

But a paddle can also be used, and one pedal can be pushed all
the way down to retract the fins for paddling, for shallow waters or
for beaching the vessel.

A rudder on the vessel can also be retracted.

The vessel also comes with more features, and accessories are available.
