Rite in the Rain

Talk to the fishing captains and the guides, the best anglers, and you’ll find that most keep a log of past trips.

The logs reveal patterns in fishing over time, like when and where the bites unfold each season.

Only problem is that the water is no place for paper.

Or used to be no place.

Rite in the Rain produces all-weather writing paper, especially in log or field books and notebooks, that sheds water.

The paper stands up to the elements, and the writing gets preserved.

For anglers, the products include kits with a notebook, a pen and a carrying case; the notebooks by themselves; different styles of weatherproof pens; and more.

Products are also available for activities like hunting, birding and traveling.

Plus products are made for other specific uses from military field-book writing to
pool maintenance.

Bound books, spiral books, looseleaf paper for binders, the binders themselves, planners, index cards and lots of different products are made.

Different types of layouts are on tap, such as lined paper and grids.

The company also makes blank copier paper so you can print
your own layout.

Rite in the Rain, a company from Tacoma, Washington, originally developed the paper for the logging industry in the notoriously soggy
Pacific Northwest in the 1920s.

The paper and products evolved
over the years for other outdoor professionals and enthusiasts.
