Thursday evening
at The Reel Seat in Brielle this week,

went to press.

The seminar
would cover the
lost art of trolling artificials for big game at the canyons,
Dave Arbeitman, The Reel Seat’s owner, said.

Many of the artificials, the most popular, are sold on the company’s website.

But the company mostly offers custom-made lures.

Orders usually take one to two weeks to fill.

To make the lures, GT Lures uses high-quality materials and old-school methods, like the methods that famous pioneer lure-makers from Hawaii used, like Joe Yee, Black Bart and Ronald Shiroma, it says.

When you order the lures, they’re hand-poured and lathed.

The best resins are used, and the company tries to pick the best products for other parts of the lures, like mother of pearl and shells from abalone, used inside the heads.

Greg has worked in the fishing industry more than 35 years.

That includes working as a mate on sportfishing boats from Brielle and Barnegat, N.J., when young.

Then he worked for Dale Clemens Tackle, and afterward operated a charter business from Costa Rica.

He’s now the
owner of GT Lures.
