Johnson Crappie Buster Baits | ||||
An angler might think The wind, cold, storms, maybe snow – all of But know what’s Crappie fishing. When fish like largemouth bass become slow to bite in the cold, crappies perk up. The slabs prefer the cooler water, becoming more willing to bite than during warm weather. Johnson has introduced the Crappy Buster line of crappie lures and other tackle to take advantage. The line is made up of the Crappie Buster Tubes, Shad Tubes, Shad Tails, Shad Cranks, Shad Spin’R Grubs and Shad Scales. The Tubes -- one of them is shown in the photo above -- are just that: a typical rubber tube lure, except with a shorter head and longer, super-thin tentacles, the company says. The Shad Tubes are tubes shaped like a shad. The Shad Tails are a hollow, rubber lure with a shad shape but a single, straight tail, finesse-style. The Shad Crank is a tiny crank bait. The Shad Spin’R Grubs are beetle-spin lures. The Shad Scales are tiny, colored scales in a gel for filling the hollow tube lures. The reflective scales mimic descaling prey to attract crappies, are scented and can last 15 to 30 minutes in a tube. Nothing crappy about this line of products. Click here for more info in a pdf.
