We were invited to an event that showcased a shore town’s fishing to the press.

Rods loaned to the press to try the community’s surf fishing grabbed attention.

Whoa, check these
out, was the reaction.

RH Custom Rods, a company from Galloway, N.J., built the poles.

If you're unfamiliar with the rods, on the market for some years, they're made with CTS blanks from New Zealand.

CTS blanks are on the leading edge of rod design, CTS says, and are made with a carbon helix core.

The core is a single carbon spiral, the best engineering to maintain cross-sectional stability during bending, CTS says.

The core “will minimize cross-sectional deformation during loading, improving power and response,” it says.

of the technology.

RH Rods makes lots of different rods for different types of fishing.

Here's a description of one of the models from company, for example: The Vapor Trail is a slower but evenly-loading rod, built for a familiar, smooth and forgiving arch, but a flexible tip that can work poppers, bucktails and swimmers.

The Elite Series rods are, like the name suggests, made to be at the forefront of technology.
