NSS evo2

For some anglers, understanding boat electronics is easy.

For others, it's difficult.

Sometimes that's
because the
descriptions of
the electronics from
companies seem to
come from nerds.

That's meant affectionately, albeit in a teasing way.

They write something like “this is a new multifunction system,"
and that's about all.

Yes, you think.

But what is it?

The company Simrad is introducing the NSS evo2, a series of electronics for boat navigation.

Take that name, for example. What does that mean? But that
doesn't matter.

Whether the electronics are easy to use is what matters, and those
nerds know that.

That seemed a goal when the NSS evo2 was made.

But first, what exactly is it?

The NSS evo2 is a series of six models of boat electronics for navigation.

Each model either includes different navigation electronics or is a different screen size, from 7 to 16 inches, to fit your boat.

Those electronics can include a chart plotter, sonar, radar and so on.

We’ll leave the details to you to figure out. Visit Simrad’s website by clicking the link below.

But the device is made to be all-in-one – or multifunctional, as the nerds say – for convenience.

There's no need to install different navigation electronics for different purposes.

The NSS evo2 is made to be easy to use by featuring touchscreen technology, like a smartphone or a tablet.

If you don’t know what touchscreen means, you’ve got more research to do than can be provided here.

You could say that the device uses an “intuitive icon-driven menu interface,” like one nerd did.

Let's put it simply, though.

The NSS evo2 is basically meant to be two things: easy to use, and all-in-one.

But it sports other features, like a particularly thin flatscreen, reportedly fast computer functioning, and compatibility with other electronics.

If you’re in the market for one of these, this one might be for you.

That you can understand.
