MotorMate

When trailering your boat, did you ever wonder whether the outboard motor was okay when it looked like it could freely swing side to side or up and down?

No, it’s not necessarily okay, and the MotorMate, from the company Epco, is made to lock the outboard in place when trailering the boat.

That can protect the motor, its finishing, its housing, the transom, the hydraulics and the steering cables.

Made from marine grade stainless steel, MotorMate is powder coated, not painted, for durability and protection.

It fits most Evinrude, Johnson, Mercury and Yamaha outboards.

One end of the MotorMate clips into the holes in the transom brackets for these outboards.

Once the end is clipped into the holes, the outboard is lowered, using the trim, onto the other end, onto high-impact nylon end caps, locking the motor in place.

Watching an installation video from the company or reading the installation instructions might illustrate best how the MotorMate works.

If you use a MotorMate, you probably have no need to worry about your outboard during trailering, because you’ve probably done everything practical to protect it.
