Plano's
Hybrid Tackle Boxes
And Marine Trunks

Plano is almost synonymous with tackle box.

Grab my Plano, your buddy says on a fishing trip, and you know what he means.

The tackle boxes are that popular, maybe because of the company’s long history and innovation.

The company, making products for anglers for 60 years, currently manufactures more than 170 products for tackle storage.

That’s more than any other manufacturer, it says.

Plano is driven to make the angler’s experience more efficient and enjoyable, Plano’s vice president of engineering said.

Here are some of the company's latest products for tackle storage.

Click on the underlined names of the tackle boxes to visit the webpage for each for more info.

Hybrid Hip Stowaway Box

This box is different from the traditional top-opening tackle box.

It can be opened on the side, so that the tackle trays can be removed individually, or can be opened diagonally or cantilevered, for access to all three trays at once.

The photos illustrate best.

Each tray can also be used like an individual drawer, and each can be removed from the box entirely.

Hybrid Hip Tray Box

This version, shown in the photo below, is similar but features trays without a lid, if anglers prefer that.

The box can still be opened on the side, so the trays can either be used like individual drawers or removed individually. Or the trays can be cantilevered, like the above version.

Both boxes also feature: top-access storage areas; a “belly” space at the bottom to store bulkier items like fishing line, pliers and bags of soft-plastic baits; brass-bailed latches; and more.

Marine Trunks

Available in 56-quart, 68-quart and 108-quart sizes, these trunks are designed for boats.

We’ve seen anglers drag all kinds of boxes aboard to store everything from tackle to life vests, tool kits, rain gear, extra cloths, you name it.

But these are built for the job.

The trunks were painstakingly designed to take a beating on the water, Plano says.

Molded from a special plastic that resists fading and heat damage, the trunks are sealed with O-rings for waterproofing.

Go ahead and stack them high, Plano says, because the reinforced, molded-groove lid is designed to support heavy loads.

The trunks, with two wheels, feature removable buckles, made to be easy to open and close.

Molded ports are included to secure the trunks with standard tie-downs and pad locks.

Plano continues to innovate on all fronts, the company says.
