St. Croix’s Legend Elite Musky Rod, part of the company’s Legend Elite series of poles, is made to sling big musky lures 24/7, St. Croix says.

It’s lighter, stronger and more ergonomic, it says.

To make the rod lighter, the company used a type of carbon fiber, SCV, to build the blank, and Fuji Torzite guides.

SCV is strong, light and responsive.

Torzite guides feature harder rings with smaller diameter.

The rods practically float in the hand, St. Croix says.

Anglers will also notice a significant reduction in tip mass, it says

St. Croix previously made the Legend Tournament Musky Rods, part of its Legend Tournament series of poles.

Legend Elite Musky Rods weigh 10 to 18 percent less than the Tournaments, depending on the model.

Several models of the Elites are available in lengths from 7 ½ feet to 9 feet and in different actions.

These rods are made for hardcore musky anglers "who can’t stop, won’t stop ... (or) for whom 12-hour casting days are standard operating procedure," the company says.
