Stoner 23 | ||||
The latest boat from Stoner Boatworks, the Stoner 23, is a mix between a Palm Beach style and a Carolina style, the company says. The high, Carolina style bow, helping to make the ride dry, drops down to the stern more gradually than other Carolina style boats, including the Stoner 26, the company’s other, first vessel. The 23-foot Stoner 23, with a 9.2-foot beam, is rated for 300 horsepower. It comes powered with a 250-horsepower Yamaha outboard four-stroke. But it can be powered with twin outboards up to a total of 300. With the 250 Yamaha, The Stoner 23 can run faster than 60 m.p.h., cruising between 30 and 45. At speeds 30 to 45, the boat is unbelievably fuel-efficient, Stoner says, burning about 9 gallons per hour. The boat has 160 gallons of fuel capacity and comes equipped with one of Stoner’s consoles the company makes, with a built-in cooler, one of its leaning posts, with a built in, full-circle bait livewell, a large fish box in the bow, and more. The Stoner 23 has a base price of $85,000 and is built in about 8 weeks, depending on customization. A trailer is about $3,000, but the price can vary, depending on different trailers. Though this review is about the Stoner 23, the company’s other vessel, the Stoner 26, is a 26-foot, Carolina style boat, with a 315-horsepower Yanmar inboard, with a base price of $140,000. But that vessel can be powered with single or twin outboards. Stoner Boatworks, located in Miami, was begun 20 years The company creates high-quality fishing boats to the customer’s exact specifications, using only the finest materials, latest technology and extremely durable hull designs, with a timeless style, it says.
