StreamTrekkers

Crampons never worked as well on wading boots as permanent
studs did.

But StreamTrekkers, from the company IceTrekkers, are different.

The diamond-shaped traction beads can glue you to rocks even better than studs can.

StreamTrekkers are especially sturdy
crampons, too.

The beads are case-hardened steel, strung together on aircraft-grade steel cable.

The bead strings are attached to heavy-duty rubber bands that slip onto wading boots or shoes.

Welded steel chains attach the two, using steel grommets on the rubber.

Case-hardening is a process that hardens the surface of the steel.

Hardened metal is brittle, so case-hardening is useful for metal that’s subject to stress.

StreamTrekkers can be worn over rubber- or felt-soled wading boots or shoes.

Permanent studs can have purposes, certainly.

But if you’re looking for crampons or slip-ons, these are some to consider, and the manufacturer’s recommended retail price is
only $41.95.
