Trolling a Mojo, a weighted ball that drags another lure deeper than the lure would normally swim, was popular for striped bass fishing from Virginia and other states to the south for years. Then the Mojo became popular for Northeast striper anglers including from New Jersey the past two or three years. Whatta you know? – the Mojo worked there, too. Hard swimming lures like from Mann’s, namely the company’s Stretch lures, have been popular to troll for stripers in the Northeast for years. Mann’s has combined a Mojo with a hard swimming lure and named it the Mann-Jo. That’s supposed to be introduced at stores this fall and will be new for the company’s 2017 catalog. The Mojo is available with a 16-ounce ball or a 24-ouncer. The ball comes with Mylar eyes and a skirt and is available in white, chartreuse or pink. The swimming lure is available in chartreuse, pink-and-pearl or, shown in the photo, blue-and-pearl. Made in the United States at Mann’s, located in Alabama, the rig is a new twist to the Mojo, the company says. At press time, the Mann-Jo was yet to be included in the company’s website. Watch for the Mann-Jo to be included eventually, and for more info about the company, visit Mann’s website. |
