Fin-Nor Sportfisher Spinning Reel

You get what
you pay for, the saying says.

Well, not always,
the company Fin-Nor basically says.

The Fin-Nor Sportfisher Spinning Reel, part of the company’s 2010 products, is meant
to be a quality reel at an affordable price.

“Anglers who may have never experienced Fin-Nor’s legendary quality (now) have an entry-level priced spin series,” the company says.

Though the reel is economical, it's strong, durable and works excellent, the company adds.

It's stylish to boot.

The Sportfisher Spinning Reel -- the spin version of the previously introduced Sportfisher Conventional Reel   --  comes in four models:

Model    Line Cap. Mono       Line Cap. Braid    Gear Ratio/                 Weight
                                                                           Inches Per Turn

FS50       225 yds. / 12 lb.       200 yds. / 50 lb.     4.9:1 / 30”                   20 oz.
FS60       240 yds. / 14 lb.       240 yds. / 50 lb.     4.9:1 / 32”                   20.2 oz.
FS70       310 yds. / 17 lb.       220 yds. / 65 lb.     4.9:1 / 35”                   23.6 oz.
FS80       330 yds. / 20 lb.       275 yds. / 65 lb.     4.9:1 / 37”                   24.4 oz.

Each is also available in a matched rod and reel combo.

The body, side plate and rotor are aluminum, and both the outside and inside of the reel feature anti-corrosion protection for saltwater.

The spool is forged aluminum and features an asymmetrical level-wind for proper line lay.

The sealed drag uses oversized, multi-stacked carbon-fiber washers, built for smooth operation and to be able to handle big fish.

Oversized bearings on both ends of the
brass pinion gear and an oversized drive
gear are built to keep the gears in perfect alignment under heavy pressure, so the
angler can expect no flex or slippage
during the fight.

An anti-reverse clutch is intended to be
strong for solid hook-sets.

The line roller, coated with titanium-nitride
for use with both mono and braid, turns on
a ball-bearing roller.

Double bearings support the pinion gear to keep in alignment under pressure.

The ergonomic handle is included for comfort to use all day or for the long battle.

The reel is perfect at the beach house or to be kept at-the-ready for fish that are suddenly running, Fin-Nor says.
