Started in Raritan Bay (Keyport) and trolled all the way to sandy hook with no action. Mojos and stretches. Saw a fleet where the bay met the ocean with a lot of birds and bait but no action. Followed the birds south down the coast to the first bridge and they began diving and the screen lit up. Landed about 7 striper with 4 keepers up to 44 inches. A lot of top water action also. About half mile off the beach. Everyone stayed with the fleet, only three of us left and it paid off. The two other boats did very well too water. Rough conditions 6+ at time but far apart. Made it fine on 22ft aquasport. Rainy and windy. Bunker on the bellies. |
